Privacy statement

When you submit a project enquiry we collect:

• your name, mobile number, email address and (optionally) your builder or business name;
• project information such as services required, project type, suburb or site address, stage, timing and any details you provide;
• any architectural plans or images you choose to upload;
• limited technical information used to protect the form from spam, such as a one-way scrambled (hashed) form of your network address and your browser type. We do not store your raw IP address.

We use this information to respond to your enquiry, assess your project, prepare quotes, contact you about the work and keep records of our communications. We will not use it for unrelated purposes without your consent, and we do not sell your personal information.

Your enquiry and files are accessible only to authorised IHD staff. We use reputable technology providers to host this website, store data and (where enabled) manage customer enquiries. These providers handle information on our behalf and may store it on servers located outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect it appropriately.

We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law.

Enquiries are stored in a secured database and uploaded files are kept in private storage that is not publicly accessible. Access requires an authenticated staff account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

We keep enquiry information only for as long as needed for the purposes above, including any resulting project and our legal and record-keeping obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified.

You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete your enquiry, by contacting us using the details below. If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, please contact us first and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
